What is “Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC)”

is short for Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, a kind of porous silicate product, with silica sand (70%), cement (10-15%), quick lime (10-15%) and gypsum (3%) as raw materials, and Alumunium paste as the foaming agent, made through a series of construction process (measuring, rebar inserting, foaming and cutting) then autoclaved under great heat and high pressure. It is a different from the traditional aerated concrete made out of fly ashes.

Why AAC Panel

Impermeable Test

taken based on the standards of JIS 5416 show that the impermeable performance of AAC Panel in 3 times higher than that of ordinary AAC. The softening coefficient after water saturation in Rw/R0 ≥ 0.88, and also better than ordinary AAC with test value 0.6-0.65.

Lightweight

The proportion of after drying weight is 0.5, which is only 1/5 of the concrete, 1/3 of the hollow brick, so it is also known as the concrete that floating in the surface of water. Weight/Volume is 600 to 650 Kg/m3.

Heat Insulation & Preservation

The thermal conductivity coefficient of AAC Panel is 0.11 W/m -K, and the heat preservation peeformance is ten times that the normal concrete. The heat performance of the AAC Panel with thickness of 125mm equals to that of clay brick wall 370mm thick. Therefore, it is an ideal building materials with its superior heat insulation and heat preservation performance.

Fire Resistance

AAC is inorganic non - combustible material, and has good thermal stability with slow heat transfer and good fire resistance performance. Duration of panels with thickness 10 mm is mare than 4 hours. Fire endurance for steel stucture protection of 50 mm thick panel is over 3 hours which can reach Class A standard.

Sound Insulation

The internal micro structure of AAC Panel are composed of uniform unconnected tiny holes, so it can have both sound insulation and sound absorption performance. The average sound insulation effect for AAC Panel of 10 mm thickness is 40.8 dB and can reach 45 dB if both side applied 5 mm thick putty.

Load Bearing

AAC Panel is of light weight and high strength. The internal steel mesh make on requirements enables then to withstand with load, snow load and dynamic load

Earthquake Resistance

AAC Panel is light weighted and their scientific and reasonable installing design and method enables good mobility. Test of anti-earthquake and of low frequency cyclic loading perfomance of AAC outer wall panels have been carried out separately in the laboratory, which slow superior anti-earthquake performance of AAC Panel.
